Minneapolis School Shooting: Gunman Kills 2 Children, Leaves Disturbing Messages on Weapons;
A tragic shooting unfolded on Wednesday in Minneapolis, where a 23-year-old opened fire on schoolchildren attending a church service at the Annunciation Catholic School. Two students were killed in the attack before the shooter, identified as Robin Westman, was later found dead in the school’s parking lot from what authorities believe was a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Westman used three firearms during the shooting — a rifle, a shotgun, and a pistol — and fired dozens of rounds. Messages found scrawled on the weapons and magazines included disturbing phrases such as “Kill Donald Trump,” “Nuke India,” “Israel must fall,” and “Burn Israel.” Other phrases like “For the children” and “Where is your God?” were also written on the ammunition magazines. Authorities confirmed that Westman had legally purchased the weapons and had no previous criminal record. Court documents revealed that Westman had changed their name from Robert to Robin in 2020 and identified as female. Before the attack, Westman had uploaded at least two videos to a now-deleted YouTube channel titled “Robin W.” In one of the videos, Westman displayed a cache of weapons and ammunition, with the threatening messages clearly visible on the gear. The video also showed Westman holding a small firearm and stating, “This one is for me. In case I need it.” A letter addressed to Westman’s family apologizing for the consequences of the shooting was also shown. The second video featured two handwritten journals. One was over 150 pages long and entirely written in Cyrillic script. The second, dated August 21, 2025, contained more than 60 pages, also in Cyrillic. U.S. Homeland Secretary Kristi Noem confirmed the authenticity of the video and described Westman as a “deeply disturbed individual,” noting the chilling phrases found on the weapon magazines. President Donald Trump responded to the tragedy by ordering all U.S. flags to be flown at half-staff nationwide in honor of the victims. This incident marks the 146th school-related shooting in the U.S. since the beginning of the year, underscoring the ongoing crisis of gun violence in American schools
