Blue Jays Even World Series at 2–2 with Commanding 6–2 Win over Dodgers:
In what turned out to be a statement inning, the Toronto Blue Jays roared back from the heartbreak of an 18-inning Game 3 loss to level the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 2025 MLB World Series at 2–2, thanks to a dominant performance in Game 4 at Dodger Stadium. The turning point came early: in the third inning, slugger Vladimir Guerrero Jr. launched his first World Series home run — a two-run blast to left-centre that gave the Jays a 2–1 lead over ace Shohei Ohtani. Entering the game without a single RBI in the Fall Classic, Guerrero shattered that drought in dramatic fashion. On the mound, right-hander Shane Bieber delivered a solid outing for Toronto, going 5⅓ innings while allowing just one run on four hits, three walks and three strikeouts. He struck out Ohtani on a foul tip in the third — snapping Ohtani’s world-series-record streak of 11 straight plate appearances reaching base. Ohtani, making his first career World Series start, covered six plus innings. He surrendered four runs on six hits and one walk, while striking out six batters. At the plate, he went 0-for-3 with a walk and two strikeouts, after having reached base in every previous opportunity in the series and postseason. Toronto put the game away in the seventh. With the score at 2–1, the Blue Jays manufactured a four-run surge: a single by Andres Gimenez, followed by a run-scoring ground-out from Ty France, then RBI singles by Bo Bichette and Addison Barger pushed the lead to 6–1 and deflated the Dodgers’ momentum. Los Angeles would finally put another run up in the ninth — a ground-out by Tommy Edman scoring a runner — but it proved too little too late. The game ended 6–2, giving Toronto the crucial split on the road and setting up a Game 5 showdown on Wednesday in Los Angeles, with Game 6 returning to Toronto. Injury news also travelled: the Blue Jays were without their leadoff man George Springer, who sat out with a right-side injury sustained in Game 3. That made this win even more essential, as Toronto showed depth and composure under pressure. With the series now tied, momentum has shifted. The Blue Jays showed poise pitching, timely hitting and a refusal to let the Game 3 marathon derail them. Meanwhile, the Dodgers’ offence — which has managed just three runs over the last 20 innings — remains a concern as they face a surging opponent. Game 5 promises to carry even greater weight: the winner will head to Toronto for Game 6 with the chance to take a commanding 3–2 lead.
